A ten-minute play should be no more than 1600 words. Word count includes dialogue and any stage directions.

For each play entered for contest consideration, there is a $10 submission fee. Please include in your submission materials a check made payable to "NAU Foundation".

Plays should be written for no more than 3 actors. Dramatic monologues and co-authored plays are acceptable. Multiple submissions are also acceptable.

Winning plays will receive a staged reading but we cannot accommodate elaborate props, so the artistry should reside in the dialogue, not the staging.

Plays should be RECEIVED no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday July 15th. Plays should be emailed to:

Submissions will be judged anonymously. Please submit your play with just the title but no author identification on the title page.  Submit your contact information in a separate document.  All you need for contact information is the title of the play, your name, a phone # and an e-mail address.


Winners will be notified via email and posted on this site no later than August 15th.
